Actress Olivia Munn welcomes baby amid cancer treatment and shares first pic
Actress Olivia Munn is over the moon as she announces the arrival of her second bundle of joy with comedian hubby John Mulaney. The 44 year old screen star and the 42 year old funnyman who tied the knot earlier this year, have been blessed with a baby girl named Mei, delivered via surrogate.
The proud parents, already doting on their two year old son Malcolm, shared the delightful news on Olivia's Instagram, complete with heartwarming snaps from their intimate family moments. In one touching image, Olivia tenderly holds little Mei next to John, famed for his Saturday Night Live antics, in what appears to be a hospital.
Other snaps capture the adorable newborn snoozing peacefully in her mother's arms, while a family shot on a balcony showcases the foursome soaking up some quality time together.

Pouring her heart out in the caption, Olivia revealed: "Mei June Mulaney came into the world September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon. I had so many profound emotions about not being able to carry my daughter. When I first met our gestational surrogate we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much grace and understanding, I knew I had found a real-life angel."
She added, expressing her deep appreciation: "Words cannot express my gratitude that she kept our baby safe for 9 months and made our dreams come true. I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon for making the journey to be with us. My heart has exploded. Mei (pronounced may) means plum in Chinese.", reports the Mirror.

Another adoring fan penned: "What a spectacular and magical journey! Here's to Mei having a life filled with love, wonder and joy." And yet another supporter shared: "Congratulations, how wonderful! Best wishes to you and your family. Welcome to the world Mei."
In other news, Olivia opened up about her health struggles just a few weeks back, touching on her courageous battle with breast cancer. She bravely told her followers that she was diagnosed in March.
Last year saw her undergo four surgeries as part of her treatment, which also included a double mastectomy, and by November, hormone suppression therapy had led to a medically-induced menopause.
Ever candid, Olivia kept her Insta family in the loop earlier this month, sharing a heartfelt recount of her journey through cancer, detailing every step from the early days post-diagnosis right up to kicking off her Arimidex treatment in August. The NHS explains that Arimidex is often prescribed for women post-menopause facing hormone-dependent breast cancer, playing a vital role in preventing the cancer's return.
