Abigail Breslin can't help laughing when she remembers her past "questionable fashion choices".
The actress shot to fame aged just 10 when she starred in the 2006 movie Little Miss Sunshine and has reflected on learning some tough style lessons while growing up in the spotlight.
"As I've got older I've leaned more toward simplicity," she told WWD. "I made a lot of questionable choices. I look back and think nobody needs that many chokers and baby doll dresses with fur coats. But it makes me laugh. That's how you grow and change and evolve."
Abigail said working with stylist Sonia Young has given her the confidence to recognise clothes and trends that will best suit her curves.
"She's definitely been great at understanding how I like to work," the 25-year-old actress said of Sonia. "I have boobs and hips and I don't like to wear something just because it's trendy."
The Stillwater star, who lost her dad to Covid-19 in February, has also learned to ignore negative comments about her outfit choices or make-up, as she realises there are more important things in life to worry about.
"What you go through in real life, situations that are so much more important than if somebody tweets that they didn't like your shoes, you just have to keep it in perspective," she explained. "There are just so many far worse things going on in the world, and the people that I care about and the people that care about me, they don't care what a blog says about my teeth or my make-up."
