The average promposal costs $324, according to Visa, but one student found a creative solution to spending nothing — although he certainly expended a lot.

Joran Fuller ran more than five miles to ask his Findlay High School classmate Claire Short to the dance — raising the bar for all other teenagers across the nation.

Short tweeted a series of pictures from the big ask, in which her cross country teammate ran 5.5 miles with his route spelling out the word prom. She also attached a photo of them smiling alongside each other (she said yes).

“But did your prom date run 5.5 miles to ask you,” she captioned the tweet, which has since blown up across the platform. It’s received nearly 15,000 retweets and over 110,000 likes since being posted on Friday.

Social media is pretty obsessed with the promposal.

Short wasn’t expecting such a grand ask. “I was extremely surprised by the promposal! I had no idea he had been working on such a well-thought-out idea,” she tells Yahoo Style.

She also wasn’t ready for the great attention that came with the gesture. “Going viral is awesome but also extremely overwhelming,” she says. “Neither of us expected the promposal to get so much attention!”
