It’s not everyday you happen to walk past a giant inflatable breast.

But if you happened to be walking through Shoreditch, London on Mother’s Day this year, this is exactly what you would have seen.

An invention of creative agency Mother London, it’s part of the #freethefeed campaign which seeks to end stigma about women’s breastfeeding their children in public spaces.

Posters below the giant breast read: “Across the UK thousands of mothers feel watched and judged when feeding in public, be it from a bottle or from a breast.

“This is a celebration of every woman’s right to decide how and where they feed their children without feeling guilty or embarrassed about their parenting choices.

“Happy Mother’s Day. #Freethefeed.”

Unsurpisingly, the breast was quite the hit on social media, and the #freethefeed hashtag comes up with hundreds of images of it on Instagram.

Sure, it’s a little unorthodox, but it’s a point that needs making time and time again until women feel truly free to feed their little ones whenever and wherever they want.
