As beauty salons, spas and mobile therapists can reopen from Monday, we mark the beginning of the end of lockdown by taking a look back at the women who've inspired us the most. With their healthy cooking tips, workouts, step by step skincare regimes and thoroughly uplifting make-up and hair looks, these women gave us a boost when we had no one to spruce up our tired faces and grown out roots, other than ourselves.

With no further adieu, the award for lockdown beauty hero goes to...these 9 inspiring women.

Sharon Stone

From serving up gorgeous garden attire from her hats to glasses and red lips to match her garden flowers, we're in no doubt why Sharon Stone looks so youthful at 62; she shields her face from ageing UV light at all times - and it turns out she can bake apricot tarts and still rock an amazing pool body in her bikini. Did we mention she's 62?

Halle Berry

We've been tuning into Halle Berry's Instagram feed for her #selfcaresaturday pampering sessions where she dishes her favourite hair and skincare mask recipes, while her  workout posts have kept us motivated. She's a dab hand in the kitchen too, giving us an insight into the 'Keto' recipes that help Berry maintain the abs of a 25-year-old in her 50's.

Jacinda Ardern

She's been lauded for her decisive response to the Coronavirus pandemic, but we haven't stopped looking at her glossy hair, uber-groomed brows and immaculate skin. Indeed, Ardern's podium looks have been a constant reminder of the power of classic black winged eyeliner and a berry-coloured lips - a look we've been trying out on Zoom.

Tracee Ellis Ross

From her daring make-up looks to her workout inspiration, Ellis Ross regularly drops her favourite beauty products, giving us plenty of glamour and wise words during this unprecedented time. Turquoise eyeshadow anyone?

Duchess of Cambridge

You'd never have guessed that the Duchess of Cambridge didn't have an army of courtiers to coif her hair and artfully apply her make-up during lockdown. Doing her usual meet and greets by video call, Kate took to DIY make-up and hair like a pro, giving us plenty of polished day looks to steal for our own meetings. From her sunkissed complexion to her low-key everyday hairstyles, Kate has risen to lockdown life with grace.

Michaela Coel

Since binge watching her breakout BBC drama, I May Destroy You, a programme she wrote and starred in, we've fallen head over heels for Michaela Coel, From her onscreen character's pink hair to her enviable glowing complexion and feline eyes, we can't wait to see what this groundbreaking writer and actress does next. Hint: check out her yoga moves why don't you.

A constant fixture on morning TV, Holly has been a beacon of beauty inspiration. She's taken us through exactly how she colours her own roots, showed off her gardening skills and polled her Instagram followers to find out their views on whether she should go for the chop or keep her grown-out lengths, always beaming from ear to ear.

Ashley Graham

New mum Ashley has been documenting her post-pregnancy journey with typical candor, while giving us plenty of glowing face shots and Zoom led workout videos. She even shot her own front cover for US Bazaar dressed in a cut-out body con dress in the hallway of her home, taken by her husband with their baby strapped to his body.

The Queen

Last but never least, Her Majesty The Queen kicked off lockdown by addressing the nation in a bold never-seen-before tangerine lip colour. Not one to let a global pandemic get her down, Elizabeth 11 is looking better than ever at 94. She's given us endless headscarf inspiration to disguise our greying roots and proven that plenty of fresh country air is clearly good for one's skin. We've even added the Queen's new orange to our own make-up bags.
