8 Festive Nail Colors For The Holiday Season

Oh goodness, it’s that time of year again! I don’t know about y’all, but I’ve already broken out the Christmas music, ugly sweaters and holiday nails! Whether you’re showing off your manicure at glamorous holiday parties or just chillin’ at home with family and friends, your nails should look fresh, no matter what your plans are. In the spirit of Christmas, I’ve put together a list of winter-worthy hues for your holiday manicure needs.

Something about gold is especially festive during the holiday season. OPI’s All Sparkly & Gold is a dense, gold micro glitter and is part of the OPI x Mariah Carey Holiday collaboration. It’s seriously SO SPARKLY. Definitely lives up to its name (Nice work, Suzi).

The colder months are the perfect time to break out the vampy polish colors. Essie’s “Mind Your Mittens” is a dark, deliciously deep teal. I used it on a client right before Thanksgiving, and it looks very sophisticated, especially if you have shorter nails.

I’ve mentioned before that I’m a fan of CG glitters, and their most recent holiday collection was no exception. China Glaze’s Be Merry Be Bright is a magenta and purple glitter in a sheer base, which works best as a festive, decorative topcoat. In my experience, the “dabble method” is most effective when applying glitter polish.

Red is a classic, but why not kick it up a notch? Deborah Lippmann’s Red Silk Boxers is as velvety soft as Santa’s suit, and dries to a satin finish. This polish is part of her Holiday Silk Collection, which is best enjoyed with warm cookies and milk.

Zoya’s Logan is a gold-toned, rich forest green. It is luxurious and elegant, and is perfect color for a festive holiday manicure. I’d be willing to bet that it probably smells like Christmas trees.

‘Tis The Season To Sparkle! KBShimmer makes the most breath-taking glitter lacquers. Snow Much Fun is a light blue jelly filled with light blue holo glitter, white glitter, micro holographic glitter and of course, snowflake glitter. It’s as mesmerizing as watching the first snow fall.

A matte top coat instantly changes the look of your nails, right before your eyes! It makes your mani look super subdued and chic. ORLY’s Matte Top Coat is one of my favorites, and it’s reasonably priced. Plus, you’re opening up so many more opportunities for nail art and essentially doubling your nail polish stash for the winter months! Nice work!

Prints are always on point. NCLA makes some of the sickest nail wraps in the game, but this plaid print especially stands out. These make me want to put on my ugliest Christmas sweater and curl up with a cup of cocoa next to a fireplace.
