Marquita Pring returned to the SI Swimsuit Issue this May after posing for photographer Ben Watts in Puerto Rico. The stunning feature was her fourth consecutive one with the brand, following her rookie photoshoot in Wyoming in 2020, as well as additional spreads in Sacramento, Calif., and Barbados.
This year, the bikinis and one-pieces Pring wore while on location in the Caribbean were inspired by 1970s surf culture, so Watts captured the New York native in a number of dazzling colorful and unfussy looks.
On Nov. 9, Watts shared a carousel of behind the scenes Polaroid snapshots of Pring, which appropriately started with a pic of the model wearing a cropped Polaroid T-shirt over a Roxy swimsuit. She also knelt in the sand clad in a colorful bikini by Lybethras Swimwear, posed in a brown-and-white crochet Tularosa two-piece and grinned for the lens in a bright bikini top and shorts. Additionally, Pring was pictured in a navy blue Connelly wetsuit with a yellow top by White Shore Swim peeking through, as well as a colorful Bahama Mama Beachwear string two-piece.
“Retro vibe wiv a fav @marquitapring x @si_swimsuit shot on Polaroid,” Watts wrote in his Instagram caption. The photographer also credited magazine editor in chief MJ Day, hairstylist Anthony Cristiano, makeup artist Bryan Zaragoza and producer Cindi Blair.
“Love love love these!!!!! 😍❤️❤️❤️❤️,” Pring gushed in the comments section.
“Polaroids are my fav 👏,” 2023 Swim Search co-winner Sharina Gutierrez added.
“Stunning ❤️,” Zaragoza applauded, to which we couldn’t agree more.
