It is quite the fortunate occupational hazard that as the Telegraph’s beauty director, I am privy to some of the most exciting new beauty launches - of which there are many. But with so many new releases every week, and new brands popping up constantly, what really makes the cut?

Every week, I’ll take you through some of the most exciting, but no-nonsense, product launches that really work, and the ones that deserve a spot in your bathroom cabinet or make-up bag. These products get our Telegraph beauty desk stamp of approval.

Skin Nova Instant Radiance Primer £27 by Vieve

I am a big fan of the beauty range Vieve, by Scottish make-up artist Jamie Genevieve. This make-up primer is one of my favourite products yet: a hydrating cream that adds instant radiance, Skin Nova can be used alone on bare skin or as a very effective primer before foundation (and keeps it in place for hours). Either way, it's a winner. I've used this product every day for the past two weeks and really rate it.

Phyto Teint Nude £68 by Sisley

This water-infused foundation formula is perfect for anyone who likes sheer, buildable coverage. Packed full of hyaluronic acid, it's particularly good for drier complexions that need a boost of hydration. I've been buffing it into my skin with a foundation brush for a very seamless, undetectable finish.

Peace Candle £55 by Kalmar

With the onset of autumn, and cooler, rainier evenings, it's officially candle season. Light up this deliciously warming candle by bath and body brand Kalmar: with notes of vetiver, amber and moss, it's a comforting treat.

Equilibrium Restorative Hydrating Cream £125 by Hourglass

The skincare range from make-up brand Hourglass is really quite something - the brand's eye cream is one of my favourites. This latest launch doesn't disappoint. Packed full of niacinamide and squalene, this rich cream improves the look of the skin - particularly by refining pores - and hydrates beautifully. Sold.

Recycled Washbag £12 by Fussy

To celebrate Recycle Week, the British brand Fussy has produced a washbag made entirely from recycled plastic bottles. Roomy enough for all your toiletries, including the brand's natural, refillable deodorant - which is actually very effective.
