4 Stylish Women Just Told Me What They Want to Buy for Party Season

Elinor Block

There are two things I know to be true during the festive period: Firstly, I will feel exhausted after a mere second listening of All I Want for Christmas (I’m a Band Aid fan, myself). Secondly, I will find all my friends texting me asking what they should wear to their various work Christmas meals, family gatherings and New Year’s parties. The truth is that party dressing takes many forms. It’s massively dependent on personal style, and while one woman might love sequins, another might find it too "Joan Collins" for her taste.

To prove my point—and to get you excited for the upcoming festivities—I spoke to four of my favourite influencers on Instagram who all dress completely differently. Each one has their own style and varying ideas on what party dressing means: Hannah Crosskey takes a minimalist approach by sticking to a muted colour palette of black, white and cream. Then there’s Sarah Tankel Ellis of We Are Twinset, whose partywear style is more about sequins and metallics. As a fan of bold colours, Ada Oguntodu selects ’80s-style pieces such as an off-the-shoulder black-and-green dress with puffed sleeves from & Other Stories. Finally, I asked Zeena Shah what she has on her wish list for the festive period, and she sent me a list of the most fun and glitzy party dresses.

I know you’ll find something that suits your own taste from the below, so keep scrolling for a solution to all your party dressing dilemmas.
