3D Facial Reconstruction Reveals Egyptian Mummy's Striking Looks

This is a forensic reconstruction, of the face of a female mummy who died in Egypt , 2,600 years ago. Scientists from the FAPAB Research Center in Italy have spent months creating the reconstruction. They used CT scans and morphological data from her skeleton to reconstruct her looks so she is lifelike to people today. The research teams built the image by adding layers of tissue, eyes and skin before filling in details such as hair and tiny freckles around the nose. The mummy, known as Shep-en-Isis is kept in the São Galo Abbey Library, in the Swiss city of St Gallen. She was the daughter of a priest in the city of Thebes and died, aged 30-40, between 610 and 620 BC.
