33 Autumn Finds From Zara, H&M and Mango I Can't Get Out of My Mind

·5-min read

Like so many, my shopping habits have changed vastly over the past 18 months. My second-hand intake has gone up by about 100%, and I find that I have more willpower than I previously did when scouting out the various new-in sections I browse daily—which I only do as part of my job, of course…

Ordinarily, I'd have a wish list as long as my arm filled with shoes and dresses to wear to weddings, pieces I want to pack for holidays and a handful of chic items to wear to work. Now, aside from the four weddings I have on the horizon, for which I'll be wearing outfits I already have in my wardrobe, I haven't felt the insatiable need to buy anything new. Still, on the cusp of a new season, I thought I'd perhaps take a look at the latest collections from some of my favourite high-street stores (I chose Zara, H&M and Mango) to see if anything would catch my eye. You probably know where this is going.

Janelle Marie Lloyd wears a pair of wide-leg jeans from H&M.

Remember that nonexistent wish list I was telling you about? Now, it's packed full of pieces from—yep, you guessed it—Zara, H&M and Mango. Although they've taken slightly varied approaches, each brand is getting autumn style so bang on that creating an edit of the best pieces was no small feat. Still, being an editor means that, sometimes, I have to make very tough choices, and when it comes to showing you the pieces you absolutely need to see, I've managed to whittle it down to the top 11 from each brand.

Franny Fyne wears a blue knitted set from Mango.

With everything from knitted dresses and midi skirts that were made to be worn with knee-high boots (of which I've found a couple of excellent pairs) to updated knitwear and sleek tailoring you'd never guess came from the high street, scroll on to see 33 autumn style hits from Zara, H&M and Mango.

H&M

All roads lead towards quilted jackets this season, and this one is is very, very good.

Loose-fit denim will continue to dominate this autumn.

H&M Boxy Sweater Vest (£15)

The perfect introduction to the knitted-vest trend.

H&M Broderie-Detail Jumpsuit (£70)

The broderie material will make this an ideal transitional piece to see you through the summer-to-autumn shift.

H&M Knee-High Boots (£40)

These boots look so high-end.

H&M Zip-Top Cashmere Jumper (£120)

A very premium-looking number from H&M here, this works with leggings or jeans as nicely as it does worn with a slinky slip skirt.

H&M Collar-Detail Jumper (£18)

This trending knit also comes in classic grey.

H&M Oversized Shirt Jacket (£35)

It's shacket season and this one is very chic.

H&M Felt Slippers (£20)

A stylish replacement for my well-worn slippers.

H&M Oversized Denim Shirt (£25)

I'll wear this with cycling shorts now and leather trousers later.

H&M Long Coat (£50)

I'm going to the pretend it's from The Row. Don't judge me.

ZARA

Zara Mini Dress With Cut-Out Detail (£50)

I don't know when, where or how I'll wear it, but I just know it's a winner.

Zara Pencil Skirt With a Draped Front (£28)

Combined with the matching asymmetric top, this is a really elegant look.

It's limited edition and such a wonderful colour—don't expect this to hang around for you.

Zara Loafers (£50)

Insert flame emoji here.

Zara Embroidered Kimono (£80)

I can't fault this look.

Ruching will be a huge boot trend this autumn and winter.

I'm obsessed with this pretty print.

Oh, it's very sophisticated.

Zara Long Knit Striped Dress (£59.99)

I've seen this dress in real life and can confirm it looks just as good up-close as it does online.

Mango Pocket Knit Sweater (£60)

The ideal knit for autumnal hikes and walks.

Mango Floral Skirt (£30)

I'm tempted to snap up the matching blouse to this midi skirt.

Mango Metallic Frame Sunglasses (£20)

These sunglasses could easily be designer.

Mango Oversized Parka (£100)

Another trench I've got my eye on… it's a problem.

Mango Geometric Knit Sweater (£36)

A subtle take on the geometric-print trend we saw on the runway.

Mango Basket Mini Bag (£20)

Good tan bags are hard to come by, but I love this option.

Mango Contrasting Knit Gilet (£36)

This looks like it could be vintage, which is absolutely a selling point.

Mango Ruffle Blouse (£36)

Another white blouse I'm tempted to add to my collection.

Mango Ribbed Knit Trousers (£36)

Mark my words: Franny Fyne's knitted co-ord is going to sell out.

Mango Track Outside Boots (£60)

Contrasting soles are another key boot microtrend to look out for.
