3 potential items that could feature in the new royal nursery

From Country Living UK

Since hearing the wonderful news that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their third child, the nation has been preoccupied with what the royal couple might name the baby.

But what about the royal nursery, what could that look like?

According to Ideal Home, Kate and William chose a neutral and classic colour palette for the original nursery back when Prince George was born, meaning that the scheme could stay the same for future princes and princesses.

Though we can't be sure what the royal nursery will look like, there are a few clues as to what pieces could be making an appearance in the newest addition's bedroom.

The Chest of Drawers

The nursery at Amner Hall, the family's country retreat in Norfolk, is decorated with Beatrix Potter characters from the much loved children's classics. The designs are from Dragons of Walton Street in Knightsbridge – the same company that was commissioned to create Prince William's nursery when he was a baby.

We love this hand painted, extra large chest of drawers which can be personalised according to taste and fits perfectly with the neutral colour scheme.

The Linen Stripe Moses Basket

Before Princess Charlotte was born People Magazine reported that the Duchess had been seen buying this linen stripe Moses basket from stylish Kensington boutique, Nursery Window. The rope handles are the result of over 30 years of research by the brand which claims that it's the most durable.

The maize basket is timeless and traditional and can be personalised with a choice of our delicately made lining and a natural fibre mattress and would make a perfect first bed for the royal baby.

The Cambridge Bench

In 2015 furniture maker Steuart Padwick won a competition to design furniture for TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge when the couple said they would be "delighted to receive a Nursery Table and Chairs as a gift from The Furniture Maker's Company".

The designer created a table and set of chairs for the little prince, commenting that "the bright primary colours will make the furniture a source of happiness for everyone."

Though the table and chairs were one of a kind, the company, who also gifted furniture for Princess Charlotte's Nursery could send the royal couple this practical, plywood bench. With it's two-tone colour scheme, the Cambridge Bench was created for by Padwick based on the Royal Nursery furniture he designed for Princess Charlotte and Prince George.
