When it comes to building a capsule wardrobe, Marks and Spencer has a whole host of great pieces that will see you through the seasons.

One particular item that's caught shoppers' attention is this elegant knitwear piece from M&S, that's perfect for layering.

The Ribbed Funnel Neck Relaxed Knitted Vest comes in two colours - moss green and a light grey.

With a price of £29.50, it's an affordable as well as a stylish addition to your autumn/winter wardrobe.

M&S blogger @marksandspencer_sam has styled the knitwear piece with a stripy t-shirt, cropped jeans and Chelsea boots - and her followers loved the look.

Sam captioned the picture, "Cosy layers & Autumnal colours. This knitted zip tank is a great layering piece that’s fantastic for adding an extra bit of warmth! The jeans are a cropped length and perfect for exposing the design of my ankle boots. The padded tote bag is inline with the current trend, and the animal print brings it to the next level!"

And fans were quick to show their appreciation in the comment section. "Love this combo of pieces Sam!" one follower wrote.

While another commented, "Bought the cream version of this, such a gorgeous jumper."

A third one simply added, "Look at this KNIT."

While Sam has layered the knit with a relaxed t-shirt, this versatile jumper can be worn over your favourite long-sleeve midi dress, or an on-trend midaxi dress with casual boots for a laid-back autumn look.

Shoppers also shared their raving reviews of the versatile knit on M&S' website, with one writing, "Comfy and cozy, ideal for autumn/winter."

While another customer added a useful tip on the sizing, "Comes up oversized-I’m normally am M but went for S based on other peoples reviews and it’s still a comfortable fit."

A third shopper wrote, "Lovely item, comfortable and warm, quality much better than expected, really pleased and perfect for the colder months ahead."
