We have tens, if not hundreds, of shoes in our wardrobes and yet, each year, when summer rolls around, we still feel unprepared when it comes to footwear.
However, there is one pair in particular, that shoppers are currently raving about, and — unsurprisingly — it's from our trusted Marks & Spencer.
The £22.50 Leather Footbed Sandals from the super-retailer look undeniably a lot like the coveted Birkenstock sandals that are seen on the feet of all fashion-forward city-dwellers worth their salt. Except they're around £20 cheaper, of course.
Over 300 reviews have already been left by happy shoppers on the site, dubbing the shoes 'super comfortable' to wear around all day, and the 'perfect' shoe for warmer weather.
'I'm normally a size 6.5 or 7 but ordered a size smaller (a 6) as suggested by other reviewers and they are perfect. I've been wearing them instead of slippers and they're so comfy,' wrote one.
Another added: 'I bought these in the soft pink and the white... they were comfy the moment I put them on and I am very fussy about footwear. The pink is a lovely shade and I am seriously considering getting the navy blue, too. The adjustable straps mean that as the leather softens and possibly stretches slightly then I can adjust them again.'
The sandals come in four colourways, pink, dark tan, yellow and navy, and are currently — and rather miraculously — still available in all sizes from a three to an eight.
Plus, they're fitted with M&S' patented Insolia Flex technology that supports your feet and keeps them comfortable and breathable no matter how hot it gets or how far you're walking in them — which, right now, we can't imagine is farther than the ice cream van.
If you prefer a more neutral wardrobe, the retailer also have a similar (near identical) design, also priced at £22.50 and available in white and gold.
With almost 200 reviews, shoppers have called the shoes 'very comfy', 'stylish' and a 'perfect fit'.
Finally, we think we might be summer-ready.
