The 2024 Golden Globes have now moved to CBS.
The annual awards ceremony will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+, as well as be available on the CBS app, as part of a new deal. The upcoming 81st ceremony will take place January 7 in Los Angeles, and will air immediately following an NFL on CBS Sunday doubleheader. The awards show is expected to be supported by a major marketing campaign, per an official press statement.

The Golden Globes previously aired on NBC for decades. However, NBC opted for a one-year broadcast agreement in 2023 following the allegations of racism within the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the voting board behind the awards show — that ceremony aired on NBC in January earlier this year. Now the Tiffany Network is claiming dibs.
The HFPA added 103 new voters in 2022, marking the first time voters based outside of the U.S. have been added to the voting pool. Voters represented 62 different countries, and combined with the current HFPA membership, the total Golden Globe Awards voting body is now 52 percent female and 51.5 percent racially and ethnically diverse.
The one-year NBC deal that marked the return of the Golden Globes to the network was developed under Dick Clark Productions, which is now an entity of Penske Media Corporation, IndieWire’s parent company. The 2022 awards winners were announced over Twitter and not televised by NBC.
“We have seen first-hand the dedication of the HFPA as it continues to modernize and act on its important mission,” Adam Stotsky, president of Dick Clark Productions, a subset of Boehly’s Eldridge Industries, said in 2022. “We’re excited to produce the show that kicks off award season, supports so many here in Los Angeles, and impacts artists across the globe.”
As announced in August 2023, the HFPA shifted former President of the HFPA Helen Hoehne into the role of Golden Globes President specifically for the awards show. The HFPA formally dissolved earlier this year.
“We are proud of how the Golden Globes has evolved over the past two years and where the organization is headed,” Hoehne said at the time. “With its unique international footprint and global perspective on the entertainment world, this esteemed and trusted board truly sets the Golden Globes apart as an organization intent on recognizing achievements in film and television with superior credibility and integrity.”
The nominations for the 2024 Golden Globes will be announced December 11, a little less than a month out from the January 7 ceremony.
