We became a nation obsessed with decorating our homes at the peak of lockdown – and, it turns out, there was one comforting, stylish trend we were all hankering after.

Online broker Mojo Mortgages recently analysed Google search data from the last few months to find the top 20 interior design trends of 2020 so far.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Scandinavian-inspired interiors came out top with 121,600 searches thanks to its calming, minimal-yet-cosy aesthetic.

In fact, as a nation we're so obsessed with Scandi-style that decorating with the trend can add £340,000 to a home's value, the study found.

Other key interiors trends in the top 5 include farmhouse (101,000) and industrial (79,800), along with more daring aesthetics like floral (74,000) and geometric (48,000).
