Story from SWNS

A teenage yob is facing jail after shocking footage caught him ramming a police officer off his motorbike in a stolen car.

Callum Fellows, 18, was behind the wheel of a dark blue Seat Leon which was being followed by PC Steve Lovering.

When the car stopped at traffic lights the officer drove up to the driver's door but Fellows suddenly reversed before steering straight into PC Lovering's BMW bike.

CCTV and the officer's body-cam captured the shocking moment when PC Lovering was sent sprawling onto Ashes Road in Oldbury, West Mids.

The officer is heard shouting out in pain before radioing colleagues for help as Fellows sped away.

He said: "I've been deliberately rammed off my bike from that vehicle. It's gone left, left towards Blackheath.

"Two IC1 (white) males on board."

Fellows narrowly missed running over the officer when he careered onto the wrong side of the road before going through red traffic lights.

Shocked members of the public are seen rushing to help PC Lovering while one woman snaps Fellow's registration number on her mobile phone.

One man asks the officer: "Are you alright? Are you sure you don't need to sit down?"

PC Lovering replies: "I'm good thanks, mate.

"Worst thing about it – it's not the first time it's happened, it won't be the last. It was a stolen car.

"Thank you everyone very much for stopping."

Other witnesses then help the officer haul his motorcycle up off the road. The shocking attack took place in broad daylight on August 27.

The yob was caught and the Seat was revealed to have been stolen in a car key burglary days earlier.

PC Lovering picked Fellows out in an ID parade and he was arrested.

Fellows, of Wolverhampton, admitted assault, dangerous driving, criminal damage and driving while disqualified.

He's also admitted receiving stolen goods, three other charges of dangerous driving and disqualified driving, as well as stealing a motor vehicle.

Fellows is now awaiting sentence.

PC Lovering said: "It was pure luck that there weren't any cars near me when I was knocked off the bike, as it could have been much worse.

"I had some some back and shoulder pain, but nothing was broken.

"It was really heartening to see so many people stopping to help and check that I was OK and offer their help."
