This is the moment an impatient driver mounts and speeds along a pedestrian footpath in Birmingham.

The dangerous incident took place on Chester Road at around 2:30 pm on Thursday.

Driving along the pavement on the wrong side of the road, the car is then seen cutting in front of an unsuspecting motorist at a set of traffic lights.

Thomas Davies, the man who captured the footage, told Newsflare: "I was at work, driving a minibus to Sutton Coldfield in Birmingham to start the afternoon school return to Derby. It happened near Halls Garden Centre, heading north towards Tesco and Beggars Bush pub, just approaching school finishing time.

"I was in slow-moving traffic when I looked in my mirror to see a car swerve onto the footpath. I thought it might have been a resident driving a little along the footpath to get to their drive, but I was wrong! Much to my disbelief, I continued moving slowly in traffic until it came into the camera's view. I have seen some awful driving, but this truly shocked me!"
