Story and video from SWNS

These friends filmed themselves freefalling backwards from a cliff - while holding hands.

Josephine Eve, 28, and Niclas Strohmeier, 23, performed the stunt at the BASE jumping hotspot of Monte Brento, Italy.

They fall backwards into the dense mist below before separating in the air and landing safely.

Josephine, from Milan, Italy, said: "This video was taken at Monte Brento next to Lake Garda, one of the most famous places for BASE jumping.

"I go there often since I am so close, but people plan trips from all over the world to visit this place on a yearly basis.

"Nic and I are flying friends but we really have a great connection and have a lot of fun together.

"We like to freefly, which means we like to move our body in the air.

"In a time where everyone is using suits to fly, you could probably count on your fingers people that actually BASE freefly.

"Like any BASE jump, it is always a bit scary and for technical jumps like this one, the adrenaline is incredibly high.

"When I watch this video over and over again, I think that we could not have nailed it better. No one in the world has ever done a jump like this one."
