High-risk teenager dies after attending mask-free church party
A high-risk teenager died of coronavirus after attending a gathering of around 100 people.
Carsyn Davis, 17, of Florida, had a history of health problems including cancer and a rare autoimmune disorder.
She attended the church party with her mother, who had previously written Facebook posts against the mandatory use of face masks. Partygoers were not told to wear masks at the event.
According to The Independent, the teenager's parents gave her hydroxychloroquine - the antimalarial drug controversially used by US president Donald Trump that has been labelled dangerous for causing potentially-fatal heart rhythm problems.
Ms Davis died in June.
