Lucky escape for driver who collided with a train
A driver who crossed on to the tracks ahead of an oncoming train in Los Angeles survived the resulting crash with only "scrapes and bruises", according to police.
Dramatic video shows a black BMW making a left turn on to the tracks at the intersection of Long Beach Avenue and 55th Street on March 3.
Seconds later an oncoming train crashes into the car, sweeping it along the tracks.
According to a local report, only one gate arm was down at the intersection.
The lucky driver was discharged from the hospital within 24 hours.
