Oprah Winfrey denies advising Harry and Meghan on royal exit

Oprah Winfrey has denied claims that she advised Prince Harry and Meghan Markle about "breaking free" from the royal family.

The TV personality is a friend of the Duchess and attended her wedding with Harry two years ago.

It was claimed she provided advice to the couple about their decision to quit their position as senior royals.

A source told Page Six: "Oprah was the first person to talk to Harry and Meghan about breaking free and doing their own thing, building on their own brand. She made them realise it was really possible."

The chat show host has denied the claim however, saying "they don't need my help".

She added: "Meghan and Harry do not need my help figuring out what's best for them.

"I care about them both and support whatever decisions they make for their family."

Page Six also claimed that Meghan's pal Gayle King has secured the first interview with the couple post-announcement.

"It's hush-hush, but there's no one else they would turn to," a TV source added.
