Strong crosswinds forced an Aer Lingus pilot to abort his landing at London's Heathrow Airport on Sunday, after gusts violently buffeted the airliner.

A video posted online shows how the plane aborts its landing at the last second after the quick-thinking pilot is forced to pull up.

The dramatic footage was captured by a plane spotter near the airport's perimeter fence. In the footage the plane can be seen wobbling from side-to-side.

Heathrow is one of the world's busiest airports with 475,000 flights a year.
