Second poll gives Labour a lead

Jeremy Corbyn's Labour Party has taken a lead in the polls after a handful of rebel MPs broke away to form The Independent Group (TIG) last month.

In a poll out today for the Daily Telegraph, Comres puts Labour up one point on 35% while the Tories are down two points on 34%. TIG, although not a political party but a private company, registers at 7%, one point below the Liberal Democrats but a point ahead of Ukip.

This comes after a poll on Friday by Survation - the only pollster to correctly predict the 2017 general election - gave Labour a four-point lead over the Tories. TIG didn't feature in that poll.
