CCTV footage captures the moment a man's phone explodes in his pocket

It's been awhile since the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 made headlines for catching fire on a plane.

But considering the pervasiveness of smartphones, it's relatively rare we hear about phones exploding, let alone catching the moment on film.

Well, SWNS reports that a CCTV camera in a hardware factory in Mumbai has done just that, capturing on film the moment a man's phone explodes in his pocket, catching fire and burning his leg.

In the video above you can see the flames burst from the leg of his jeans, before he frantically grabs the phone, throwing it to the floor where it continues to burn, filling the room with smoke.

No word on what type of phone it was, but since local sources say the flames were eventually extinguished with water, we're guessing the model wasn't water resistant.
