Why you may not want to post your boarding pass to social media

Some people can't help but posting pictures of their holidays and it seems even their plane tickets. But posting pictures of your boarding pass could lead to some serious consequences.

The boarding pass has a six-digit number called a Passenger Name Record (PNR) which is actually very sensitive. This information could allow hackers to gain access to personal information including being able to change your travel details and even steal frequent flyer miles.

According to the magazine Popular Mechanics, finding these numbers and gaining access is becoming easier, as the pictures are often tagged, making it almost too easy for criminals to find.
