See the crazy dust devils NASA captured dancing across Mars

We aren't strangers to dust devils here on Earth, but did you know Mars also experiences these mini twisters?

Captured in the video above are images taken by NASA on the Red Planet that reach up to 12 miles high.

These dusty whirlwinds form when the sun warms the ground, causing the convective rising of air and dust.

NASA's Curiosity Mars rover captured the dust storms by land, while the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter snagged shots from above.
