US prison inmate falls through ceiling in failed escape attempt

This is the moment a Jackson County inmate, identified as Blaze Ayers, fell through the ceiling in the county's jail during a failed escape attempt on Monday.

Video provided by the Jackson County Jail shows corrections officers gathering beneath a ceiling tile and tasering Ayers after he fell.

While returning from a recreation area, Ayers ran into a medical room, locked himself inside, and climbed into the ceiling, according to a Facebook post by County Sheriff Rick Meyer.

Meyer said officers deployed stun guns to subdue Ayers after he 'refused to comply with orders given.'

Ayers was treated by local emergency medical services after the incident and was charged with attempted escape and criminal mischief, according to the Sheriff.
