Archaeologists unearth 2,000-year-old ring in Israel
A bronze ring dating back 2,000 years has been discovered at the City of David archaeological site in Jerusalem, Israel.
The item was excavated from a structure thought to have housed a ritual bath.
According to archaeologists, a worshipper likely lost the ring when fresh from ritual purification prior to his ascent to the Temple Mount.
For the past seven years at the site, archaeologists have been excavating a now-subterranean stairway that once served as a main artery to the Temple Mount.
