Palestinians hold sit-in to save village from bulldozers

Palestinian activists are staging a sit-in in an attempt to thwart a plan to destroy the village of Khan al-Ahmar, home to 200 people.

Five European countries have made a last-ditch appeal to Israel, asking it not go to ahead with the demolition of the Bedouin village in the occupied West Bank.

Residents insist they will not leave voluntarily and there are fears the protests may descend into violence.
