Rome considers using Trevi Fountain as revenue source

Each year, people toss as much as $1.2 million worth of coins into Rome's Trevi Fountain, and the city is reportedly thinking about using that money as a revenue flow.

While the funds have been going to a Catholic charity, Rome which is in roughly $15.8 billion in debt, has found itself in need of some extra cash.

The measure to keep the coins came from Rome's mayor and the projects funded by the money would be determined by a city council working group.
