The Handmaid's Tale and Big Little Lies triumph at Emmys

The Handmaid's Tale was among the big winners at this year's Emmy Awards.

The dystopian drama, based on Margaret Atwood's novel, picked up five gongs at the star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Elisabeth Moss was named Best Actress, while her co-star Ann Dowd received Best Supporting Actress.

HBO series Big Little Lies also garnered five trophies, including Best Lead Actress in a Limited Series for Nicole Kidman, as well as Best Limited Series.
