Terrorists try to blow up plane with bomb hidden in Barbie doll

Lebanese security forces say they've foiled a plot to blow up a plane with explosives hidden inside a large Barbie doll and a meat grinder.

According to the country's interior minister, terrorists plotted to plant a bomb on a plane filled with 400 people heading from Australia to Abu Dhabi.

Four Lebanese-Australian brothers have been accused.

According to the interior minister, the potentially devastating plot was foiled after the bag containing the explosives didn't make it on the flight because it was 15 pounds over the weight limit.

In mid-July the man who was supposed to be on that flight with the explosive luggage was arrested in Lebanon after arriving from Australia.

Sky News reports the plot has been described as "one of the most sophisticated" plots to have been hatched on Australian soil.
