Premium Bonds: August winners announced

The Premium Bond prize winners for August have been announced and this month Lady Luck has certainly been at work, with two women winning the top prize.

The women, who are from Bristol and Leicestershire, have become the 367th and 368th winners of the £1m prize.

The first winner, from Bristol, won with Bond number 164QV715020 which was bought in February 2010 as part of a £5,000 purchase. This lucky lady has a total Premium Bonds holding of £30,925.

The winner from Leicestershire bought her winning Bond (no. 87DH369559) in January 2000 and she currently has the maximum holding of £50,000 invested in Premium Bonds.

Since the first Premium Bonds draw in 1957, there have been more than 376 million prizes paid out, totalling £17.6 billion.

Over 1.3 million Premium Bond prizes have never been claimed and these prizes are worth more than £56 million.
