Anthony Scaramucci fired as Trump's media chief

Anthony Scaramucci has been fired from his role as White House communications director after just 10 days in the job.

US President Donald Trump sacked the former Wall Street financier after his foul-mouthed tirade against his colleagues Reince Priebus and Steve Bannon.

Following Scaramucci's appointment last month, Trump's chief of staff Reince Priebus and spokesman Sean Spicer left their roles in the White House.

His departure comes after Trump's new chief of staff, General John Kelly was sworn in on Monday.

Trump's spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said: "The president certainly felt that Anthony's comments were inappropriate for a person in that position. He didn't want to burden General Kelly, also, with that line of succession."
