Add sugar to your shampoo, advises dermatologist



Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down - but that's not all it does.

A leading dermatologist recommends adding a spoonful of sugar to your shampoo for clean hair and a perfectly exfoliated scalp.

Adding a tablespoon of sugar to your shampoo helps remove dead skin cells and residue so your conditioner can work better, leaving you with cleaner, healthier hair, according to Dr. Francesca Fusco of Wexler Dermatology.

She has special expertise in treating people with problems relating to hair loss, and shared the tip with Marie Claire magazine.

But just like when you exfoliate your face, too much can be a bad thing, as it can strip your hair of the natural oil it needs.

Fusco recommends the sugar-shampoo mixture every three to five washes.

But some critics aren't too sweet on the sugar, saying it's too abrasive...
