Highest paying jobs that cause the least stress


New Year, new you! If you're looking to find a new job in 2017 you might as well aim high.

But is it true that more money means more problems?

According to Business Insider, there are some jobs that provide substantial salaries with low stress.

Using the US Department of Labor's Occupational Information Network database, they were able to come with a list of the highest paying jobs that cause the least stress.

The database rates the 'stress tolerance' rating on a scale from zero to 100 of each profession.

An optometrist has a stress tolerance rating of 70 and average annual earnings of $115,750 (£95,283).

An orthodontist can make up to $221,390 (£182,243) a year with a stress tolerance rating of 67. And the best combo of all?

Making $94,940 (£78,152) a year with a super low stress tolerance rating of 53.

The profession? Materials scientist.

But, to be honest, we don't really think studying the molecular and atomic levels of stuff sounds totally stress free...
