Singapore saw more than one million cruise passenger arrivals in 2015, with a total of 385 cruise ships visiting its ports. And this number is just growing.

So why is Singapore a great place for a cruise-and-stay holiday?

The city is not only a delight in winter, but offers a whole host of cultures, cuisines and interesting sights, both old and new. Singapore boasts glittering skyscrapers and prides itself with an infusion of Chinese, Malay, Indian and European influences. Visitors can sample a contrast of sites and activities, from the excellent shopping to a visit to Little India, and a day on the beautiful Sentosa Island.

Mr Jason Chan, Area Director of Singapore Tourism Board, said: "Singapore's standing as a world-class cruise destination for the European fly-cruise market is growing fast and the trend for longer stays in fly cruise-destinations is set to offer a significant boost for Singapore visitor numbers throughout 2017."

"It's demonstrative of Singapore becoming a destination in its own right, with Brits wanting to spend more time to explore the wealth and diversity of experiences on offer, including the Botanic Gardens, multiple cultural ethnic enclaves, world-class food, as well as world-renowned attractions such as Marina Bay and the Supertree Grove."
