Taste buds are as important to Cadbury expert tasters as legs are to a top footballer.

The world famous chocolate brand has decided to put its money where its mouth is when it comes to one of its employees.

Cadbury has had one of its scientist's taste buds insured by Lloyds of London for a staggering £1 million.

Hayleigh Curtis's skills are apparently key to the success of many Cadbury's products. She works as part of a 300-strong team of inventors in the innovation kitchen in Bournville in Birmingham, and the company says that her expert taste buds are essential to making sure all new Cadbury creations meet their high standards.

Hayleigh's assets are now more prized than ever before, and to avoid rendering the insurance void, she can't take up sword swallowing, eat fugu fish or try out the hottest of peppers.

According to the Daily Mail, Lloyds has history of insuring strange body parts, so this was the perfect role for them. Jonathan Thomas from Lloyds said: "We've insured some interesting assets over the years, and this certainly adds to the mix!"

Hayleigh said: "I've grown up with Cadbury and it has always played a really important role in my life, so it's great to be part of a team that sit at the global headquarters for chocolate invention."

She added: "There is a lot of science that sits behind our chocolate innovation - from mouth feel to melting temperatures of chocolate - so with my taste buds safeguarded I look forward to creating lots more deliciously tasting chocolate for years to come."
