5. The 'Hero' Cat
In 2014 a little boy was on his bike when he was attacked by a dog, pulling him to the ground. Luckily Tara the cat came along and scared away the vicious pooch. The act of heroism managed to get Tara recognised by the state of California, and earned her the ASPCA's Hero Dog award. The famous cat also threw the first pitch at a baseball game and reportedly has a deal in the works with a magazine. The Washington Post valued the cat at somewhere between $55,600 and $463,700 after estimating how much she could have made from YouTube adverts.
4. The Celebrity Cat
Choupette Lagerfeld is the pet of Chanel designer, Karl Lagerfeld. Choupette has her own Instagram page with a whopping 73,200 followers. The fashion mogul's pet has even helped to pen a book. In an interview Lagerfeld mentioned that Choupette had had two jobs in 2014 which raked in an impressive $3 million pay out.
3. A Charming Cat
When Tinker-the-cat's owner died, she was left an impressive legacy of $800,000 and a trust fund of yet more money. Mother Nature Network reported that there were strings attached to the fortune however. Tinker wasn't allowed to stray from the home, if he did, he would revoke ownership of the house.
2. Grumpy Cat
This feline may be the most famous kitty on the list, thanks to a whole host of internet memes. The cat, whose real name is Tartar Sauce, was once rumoured to be worth $100 million - however this turned out not to be true! The famously angry cat has been in commercials, a film and has even 'written' a book! The Washington Post estimates that she's worth upwards of $42,400.
1. The 'Fat' Cat
No, it's not Garfield! Tomazo the cat inherited between $13 million and $15 million when his owner died in 2011. A lawyer told an Italian newspaper her owner left a fortune to the cat and put her nurse in charge of taking care of him.
