Electric cars are often seen as a modern phenomenon, with the success of the Tesla Model S and BMW i8 hybrid at the forefront of people's minds. However, this is emphatically not the case, as the Woods Brougham demonstrates.

Recently sold at auction in Ebeltoft, Denmark, this 1905 Queen Victoria 214A Brougham was made by Woods Motor Vehicle Company, which started in 1899. The Chicago-based firm sold such models for $3,000 in period, which roughly translates as $71,000 in today's money.
