Rod Steward relaxes on family holiday in Florida

It's that time of year when the A-List love to escape the cold, wind and rain and enjoy some New Year sunshine - which is exactly what Rod Steward and Penny Lancaster have been doing in Florida.

Rod, who turns 69 in a few days, was spotted soaking up the sun on the sandy beach, while his wife Penny, 41, splashed in the sea with their youngest son Aiden, two.

The couple's older son, Alastair, nine, didn't appear to have joined them on the beach.

Penny looked relaxed and happy, wearing denim cut-offs and a white vest top over her red bikini. But Rod didn't seem to be on quite such good form - he was spotted knocking back coffee and taking Advil painkillers as he sat on a sun lounger. At one point, he was seen with three coffee cups in front of him - we hope that one of them was for Penny!

Although the Stewart family spent Christmas at home in the UK, they headed to the US to celebrate the New Year where Rod reportedly spent time with his 33-year-old daughter Kimberly Stewart, and his 16-month-old granddaughter Delilah.
