Climber dies in 165ft fall on Ben Nevis
A man has died after falling 50 metres while climbing on Ben Nevis in the Scottish Highlands.
He was with another climber at the time of the fall in the Raeburn's Buttress area on the north face of Britain's highest mountain, according to the Daily Record.
Two helicopters and members of the Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team were sent to the scene, but the Northern Constabulary said the man died during the rescue operation.
A spokesman told the BBC: "The man will not be identified until all next of kin have been informed and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
Raeburn's Buttress is popular climbing area on the north face of Ben Nevis which stands at 1,344m (4,409 ft).
The news comes just a month after 22-year-old climber, Ben St Joseph, from Essex, died after falling 100 from Tower Ridge on the north west of Ben Nevis.
