Just months after Thailand's first transsexual air crew took to the skies with PC Air, the airline has suspended services over financial troubles and has left passengers stranded in South Korea.

Thai Deputy Transport Minister Chadchart Sittipunt told AFP: 'The airline informed the Department of Civil Aviation on Friday that they cannot operate their charter flights due to business problems. So it will suspend its services.'

Last week, the privately owned carrier's only aircraft was unable to take off from Seoul's Incheon Airport because the firm could not pay its service and fuel fees.

According to news.com.au PC Air blamed its South Korean agent for the unpaid bill, which left several hundred passengers stranded in Seoul.

PC Air hit the headlines when it hired four transgender flight attendants earlier this year in a highly publicised recruitment drive to operate flights from Bangkok to Hong Kong and other Asian destinations.
