An 80-year-old woman from Wisconsin landed a twin-engine Cessna plane after her pilot husband passed out and later died while they were flying.

According to the Herald Sun, Helen Collins had no flying experience and had to radio for help.

The Door County Cherryland Airport in northeast Wisconsin sent a plane up to tell the woman step by step how to land the aircraft.

Despite the fact the plane began to run out of fuel and the right engine failed, the woman managed to land successfully, reports the Australian.

Helen suffered minor injuries including a cracked rib , while her husband, John, 81, was pronounced dead upon landing.
