Eye-catching baby green python born at wildlife park
Ballarat Wildlife Park in Victoria, Australia has a good track record when it comes to wildlife conservation.
And it now has even more to boast about - with the the arrival of rare two non-venomous baby green pythons.
Reptile keeper Casey Burridge loved the hatchlings so much that she happily posed with one on her face.
She won't be able to do that for long, though - green pythons grow rapidly, reaching up to around 7ft long.
Yes, we know it's yellow. Hatchlings are born either this colour or deep red - but they turn green as they mature.
Its striking emerald green helps the species blend in with the rainforest - and its looks mean that it's widely regarded as Australia's most stunning snake.
Speaking in The Herald Sun, The park's manager Stuart Parker said: "Green python are like the holy grail of snakes in Australia".
