Working toward a six-pack is great, but there are so many more reasons to target your core. Yes, your core, not just your abs. This kettlebell workout designed by Women's Health trainer Tatiana Lampa helps strengthen all of the muscles that support your mid-section, including your abs, back and obliques.
A strong core does a lot more than just look good. It protects all your organs, contributes to good posture by supporting your spine, and allows you to move in all kinds of directions, which is helpful when you need to bend over or jump up to reach something.
To work out your core, your go-to moves might be crunches and sit-ups, but it's time you considered throwing a kettlebell into the mix for some more dynamic movement. Adding a kettlebell to your workout will force your core to work harder in order to help stabilise you as you manage the extra weight.
In Lampa's kettlebell workout, you'll go through three rounds of core-activating moves like kettlebell halos and weighted sit-ups. To tackle the workout, you'll need a light kettlebell that's about 15 pounds.
This core workout features about 20 minutes of kettlebell exercises, but if you're looking for more like these check out the All/Out Studio fitness app, which features plenty more workouts led by certified trainers.
