Newcastle United’s Premier League fixture against Arsenal was a full-blooded battle, and it was the North East giants who emerged victorious.

A solitary Anthony Gordon goal in the second half was the difference at St James’ Park, but this was three points born of fight, battle and grit from one to 11, minute one to 90.

A fiery encounter on Tyneside brought frustration, anger, drama and entertainment all into one. Referee decisions and VAR dominated the post-match talk but the Magpies won’t really care after edging past Mikel Arteta’s men.
