Once an American tradition, baby showers are getting more popular by the day in the UK. And while they’re not every mum-to-be’s cup of tea, they're a great way for a bunch of friends and family to get together and have fun tasting pooey (aka chocolate) nappies and the like.
You'll need to get on board with the whole baby theme pretty fast, but once you do you'll have a ball.
Who doesn’t love a little bet? If the baby’s gender hasn’t yet been revealed, encourage guests to guess the sex.
Guess The Price
In case you didn’t know, baby items add up to cost A LOT. From slings to sterilisers, see if the guests can guess how much parenting essentials cost and the person who guesses the closest amount wins a prize.
Celebrity Parent Trivia
See if you know your Blue Ivy’s from your Harper Seven’s with this pub quiz-esque game.
Guess The Celebrity Baby
Forget about guessing who’s who in your own baby photos and instead use celebrity childhood photos. Much more fun.
Pin The Sperm On The Egg
We love this ‘grown-up’ version of pin the tail on the donkey. Perfect for baby showers.
Baby Bottle Bowling
Pretty self-explanatory really – and pretty fun.
Nappy Change Race
How many nappies can you change in three minutes? Put it to the test with this game.
Decorate A Bib
While this is more of an activity than a game, it will keep the guests busy for a good half hour while they go crazy with glue guns and fabric pens.
Guess How Many Baby Socks Are In The Baby Bottle
You can fit a lot more of those teeny tiny socks in there than you would think.
Make A Nappy Out Of Loo Roll
Just like the wedding dress hen party game, this creative game can be played in teams as a race.
Don’t Say ‘Baby’
Getting through a baby shower without saying ‘baby’ is pretty tricky and a game in itself. Give every guest a bow to clip to their outfit and if you hear someone say ‘baby’, take their bow tie and clip it on yourself. Person with the most ties at the end of the shower wins.
Play Doh Babies
Give each of the guests a lump of Play Doh and get them to sculpt a baby out of it. The one which looks most like a baby wins.
Guess The Baby Food
An oldie, but a goodie. Cover the labels of baby food jars and see if guests can correctly guess what flavour each is.
Play The Messy Nappy Game
This game looks gross – but tastes great. Smear six different types of chocolate over six different (and CLEAN) nappies and get everyone to guess the chocolate brand and flavour by licking it.
If you can’t face the idea of tasting it, give it a sniff instead. Mmm.
Get the guests to write hilarious or encouraging notes on nappies for the mum-to-be to use when she’s up doing the night feed and needs a little support.
Spin The Baby Bottles
Fill baby bottles with alcohol and spin them until they stop. The person they point at has to down the contents of the bottle (the mum-to-be gets a free pass for obvious reasons!).
See how many balloons guests can fit under their tops until they pop.
Guess The Pregnancy Length
We all know humans are pregnant for nine months, but what about animals? Chose 10 animals and see if guests can correctly predict how long each one’s gestation period is.
