This year's Oscars ceremony was full of surprises. Parasite made history as the first foreign language film to win best picture, Blac Chyna posed on the red carpet and confused literally everyone, Eminem performed 'Lose Yourself', and the first meme of the evening went to Billie Eilish.
As well as this little lot, there's also a rather hefty selection of painfully awkward moments you might have missed from the 92nd Academy Awards. But, fear not, we've rounded them all up for you right here:
When Idina Menzel pulled this face during Eminem’s surprise performance
Eminem surprised everyone with his performance of 2002 hit 'Lose Yourself', but no one was more surprised (or is that shock? confusion?) than Idina Menzel. If you were just as confused about Eminen's performance as Idina, here's a little history lesson: the track won best original song in 2003 but the rapper didn't attend the ceremony because he didn't think he'd win.
When someone stepped on Olivia Colman’s dress on the red carpet
We know if someone stepped on our Stella McCartney train, we probably wouldn't handle it anywhere near as graciously as Olivia Colman did.
When Billie Eilish didn’t look at all impressed with Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig
Billie Eilish instantly became a meme when she made this face during Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig's skit as they presented the awards for best production design and best costume design. While we thought it was one of the funniest monologue's from the ceremony, the singer's face told a different story.

When Josh Gadd shaded John Travolta
Remember when John Travolta got Idina Menzel's name oh-so wrong during the 2014 ceremony when he introduced her Frozen performance? Well, Josh Gadd definitely hasn't forgotten the flub because he made sure he introduced his co-star properly. "The iconic and brilliant Idina Menzel, pronounced exactly as it is spelled," he said. The shade.

When Martin Scorsese appeared to fall asleep during Eminem’s performance
Much like Idina, Martin Scorsese also didn't seem to appreciate Eminem's surprise performance. In fact, he even appeared to fall asleep.

When Janelle Monae struggled to take her jacket off
Janelle suffered a wardrobe malfunction just moments into her incredible Oscars opener. As well as having a button undone, she also struggled to take her jacket off. In the end, she just dropped it on the floor and carried on like a pro. This viewer summed it up perfectly with this tweet: "Janelle Monae dealing with her jacket and that sweater and the button on her shirt is Emmy worthy #Oscars."
When Blac Chyna posed on the red carpet and confused the internet
The Academy Awards are the ultimate celebration of film in Hollywood with a who's who of A-List actors in attendance. So it's understandable that lots of baffled Twitter users were asking the same question on Sunday night: why was Blac Chyna at the Oscars?
When James Corden and Rebel Wilson low-key shaded the Cats movie while dressed in their costumes
"As cast members of the motion picture Cats, nobody more than us understands the importance of good visual effects," they said before pawing at the mic.
When Diane Keaton almost took the mic out when she read out Best Original Screenplay winner
Diane Keaton nearly knocked the entire mic over when revealing Parasite had won Best Original Screenplay and it was LOL.
When they tried to dim the lights after Parasite won Best Picture
The audience really wasn't having any of it and eventually the lights were turned back up and the speeches continued. Good work, team.
something about everyone chanting for the lights to come back on after they turned off during the parasite cast’s speech is very important to me pic.twitter.com/vdzLU2yUyZ— ًtom holland’s manager (@mcuharrier) February 10, 2020
When Taika Waititi tried to hide his Oscar
We honestly have no idea we he was trying to stuff it under the chair in front of him. Perhaps to stop people from falling over? Let's just hope he didn't forget to take it home.
